Mireya Mayor explores remote areas of the world is search of elusive and endangered species. The wildlife expert and anthropologist also educates students and parents about the importance of conservation wherever she goes.
After watching the movie Gorillas in the Mist before practice one day, the former Miami Dolphins cheerleader decided to devote her life to science.
Now she is being called the real life Indiana Jones and is the author of the new book, Pink Boots and the Machete.
She is also part of the National Geographic program Find Your Footprint and Proctor and Gamble’s Future Friendly project.
