Another Private Space Company Blasts into the Marketplace

Space Operations, Inc. is just a 20-foot wide office right now. But within the next two years the private space company aims to send people into low-Earth orbit.

CEO Chris Gattis says his mission is to deliver astronauts or cargo to the International Space Station when the U.S. mothballs the shuttle program later this year.

The Eclipse module is modeled after the Gemini space capsule from the 1960s. Before Space Operations is ready to fly it needs another infusion of funding so it can start building its spacecraft which is trying to become one of the first U.S. commercial space companies.
