10 Indicators Point to Warming World

A joint report put out by NOAA and the UK Met Office have looked at the atmospheric and ocean research of 300 scientists around the world and concludes global warming is a fact.

Scientists from 48 countries say 10 indicators that are related to surface temperatures all tell the same story: Global warming is undeniable.

For at least the last 50 years, the world has been heating up and the last decade was officially the hottest on record.

The 10 Indicators:
1. Ocean Heat Content, increasing
2. Temperature Over Land, increasing
3. Sea Level, increasing
4. Sea Surface Temperature, increasing
5. Temperature Over Oceans, increasing
6. Humidity, increasing
7. Air Temperature Near the Surface, increasing
8. Sea Ice, decreasing
9. Snow Cover, decreasing
10. Glaciers, decreasing

“For the first time, and in a single compelling comparison, the analysis brings together multiple observational records from the top of the atmosphere to the depths of the ocean,” — Dr. Jane Lubchenco, NOAA Administrator
