It’s a whale of a tale. The gentle yet giant blue whales–the biggest mammal on Earth–has returned to the cool ocean off the coast of British Columbia for the first time in many decades.
Scientists believe they are following their primary food source–krill–and it may have something to do with a natural ocean climate pattern called the Pacific Decadal Oscillation. A new report shows blue whale sightings in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
