Reduce, reuse and recycle is the common green message when it comes to using packing peanuts in your holiday packages. There are several ways to go green with the packing supplies this year. Science Guy Steve Spangler is on the case.
Instead of throwing them away, you can reuse packing peanuts. If you don’t have a need for packing peanuts, you can put eco-friendly cornstarch peanuts in water and watch them dissolve.
If you have the regular polystyrene peanuts, use a solvent like acetone (nail polish remover) to dissolve them. Both methods leave very little residue to go into landfills.
